Deeply Rooted Co-op FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions

Q: is Deeply Rooted Co-op a part of True North Homeschool™?

A: Yes, for the 2024-2025 school year, we launched a new 1-Day Christian Co-op focused on Biblical Christianity and raising up the remnant. Deeply Rooted is laser focused on God’s Word and the gifts and workings of the Holy Spirit.

This 1-Day True North co-op stands alone or can be utilized with our other True North tracks and learning experiences. Open to Members and Non-Members.

Q: What is the difference between half and full days options?

A: We have limited half day options for AM or PM. We cap half day spots at about 20% of each class size (ideally 8-10). Half day options are very limited and based on availability.

Q: What is the total cost per semester?

A: See our Co-op Costs. It depends on half day or full day. We have limited spots for half day options. We cap them at about 20% of each classroom of students.

Q: What is the schedule for the school year?

A: Here is the Deeply Rooted Community Calendar for the 2024-2025 School Year.

Q: Is there ANY work expected outside of community Day?

A: The 6th-8th+ class does have regular writing and reading assignments throughout the school year. For 5th grade and below, there is minimal homework. Most “homework” will be around our Communications and Literature class (e.g., presentation prep, basic writing assignments (grades 3rd and up), reading literature discussed in class, etc.) These assignments are optional for the student.

Beyond that, we do not have much that is required besides occasional presentations and optional “go deeper” type projects that are community challenges. It is pretty light compared to other co-ops and enrichment programs for this age group.

The co-op exists to enhance your current homeschooling and curriculum used at home. We approach curriculum use and outside work from a minimalist perspective.

Q: What curriculum do I need to buy?

A: We don’t require any curriculum purchasing (except for 6th-8th+ IEW resources). The Bible is the only required resource for the morning classes. We provide a Resource List that families can use to purchase resources to use at home if they see ones they like used in class. We approach curriculum use from a minimalist perspective.

Q: WILL this BE DROP OFF or parent participation?

A: Parent participation. This is structured as a highly engaged, parent participation co-op in order to foster a close knit community and keep costs down. In order to do so, we require parent participation to attend, contributing in volunteer roles such as Class Lead, Class Co-Lead, Class Assistant, Community Day Support (AM set-up / PM clean up), and/or Community Event Planner.

Most of the parents are Class Leads, Co-Leads and/or Class Assistants.

Q: How can I help?

A: We love this question - as it’s the essence of the kind of community culture we are building through the Holy Spirit’s guidance. We look forward to discussing this question with you during the New Family Consultation.

Q: What is your minimum age for program enrollment?

A: Our minimum age for program enrollment is 4 years old by September 1st. We have rolling enrollment so if you child turns 4 during the school year, you are welcome to enroll your child assuming there are spots available.

Q: Can I bring my children who are under 4 years old?

A: If a parent is teaching a class on campus, we allow younger siblings on campus but will ask parents to take the child out of a class whenever disrupting the class. There are other families who also have younger siblings not old enough to be in the program so there is conversation among them to have a parent-led nursery area for the littles (TBD).

Q: If my 4 year old is not comfortable taking classes away from me yet, can my child stay with me during the community day?

A: We would ask that you stay in your 4 year old’s class more often than your other children’s classes since your 4 year old would be enrolled in the program and have classes during the day.

Q: If we like our current math curriculum, are we able to not take math through the co-op?

A: The co-op is meant to enhance your family’s homeschool experience. There are minimal curricula purchase requirements as our community approaches curricula from a minimalist perspective. Less is more! This means that you are welcome to use your own preferred math curriculum at home. In class, we will have a curriculum for community day classes that is not required to purchase.

Q: How does the schedule look for parents? Will we teach one subject AND be responsible for coming up with a portion of the curriculum?

A: We will provide lesson plans for class leads and co-leads. Class leads teach 24 weeks and Co-Leads teach 12 weeks (alternating every other week) with another fellow Co-Lead of that class.

Q: Do you offer other learning experiences besides Deeply Rooted?

A: Yes! Many. Best place to check is our True North Calendar! We have Educational Track experiences on various days of the week throughout the school year. Most of our Educational Tracks are on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Many of our Educational Tracks have hybrid and even online learning experiences as well as some in-person classes. Mondays and Fridays are typically reserved more for Field Trips and activity-based clubs.

Q: Where ARE YOU located?

A: Deeply Rooted Co-op is at the same location as True North’s flagship Littleton Location near Kipling & Ken Caryl Ave. intersection (closest C-470 exits are Kipling and also Ken Caryl Ave.).

Q: Will you be an umbrella school, offering record keeping?

A: No, we partner closely with Christian Home Educators of Colorado (CHEC). A part of Christian Home Educators of Colorado, the CHEC Independent School is an umbrella school that partners with parents across the state of Colorado to provide private education at home. CHEC believes that parents are responsible for the education of their children, and through the Independent School, CHEC helps Colorado parents succeed in that God-given role.

Q: WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY and How can I cancel my registration for the School Year?

A: We have no cancellations after 14 days before your start date. If canceling before then, your refund will be the amount minus credit card processing fee(s). Our Co-op Costs are by the semester and once the semester starts, they are non-refundable. Please contact us directly if you need to cancel your registration.

Q: Are you exempt from SB163?

A: Yes. We are not a school nor an umbrella school. We do not accept public funding so we are not included in this newer legislation.

Q: DO you require masks?

A: No. Masks are not required. Feel free to wear one, if ever needed for your family. We respect your personal choice. No temperature checks either. Your health data is your private data. We have a tight illness policy and cleaning procedures in place to: 1) create a healthy learning environment, and 2) minimize exposure, especially during cold and flu season.

Q: What is your privacy statement?

We do not share, sell, or disclose any personal information of students (or families).

Think of us as an “a la carte” resource center, giving you ultimate flexibility when building your homeschool. True North Homeschool™ fits well with an umbrella school and other existing enrichment and coop options. Enrolling with True North Homeschool™ is like a monthly membership / subscription, giving your family full and priority access to all of our learning opportunities! We also have our True North Adventure Pass™ which is for all of our learning adventures that are more like tourist attraction experiences than a typical field trip would be.

Q: IS true north homeschool™ an enrichment option for homeschoolers?

A: We are a fairly new homeschooling resource, launched in Spring 2021, for families across the state that includes in-person, hybrid, and online learning experiences (as one of our core offerings). It’s a new “A La Carte” style option – for total flexibility – compared to the traditional options. Not an umbrella. Not a school. More of a resource center – virtually and physically. We are continually adding more and more resources for you as we grow and expand our reach across Colorado.

Our True North Adventure Pass™ is great for homeschool families that live anywhere in CO that want to explore fun places with their family and other homeschooling families!
