About Our Field Trips
We have featured field trips and theme-based field trips that complement our Educational Tracks. They can be found on the True North Calendar and will be added as the year progresses. Our Field Trips** are always offered up to our Members first and then to the public, if we have any spots left. Some are free for Members and cost for Non-Member Families. Many of these are smaller so they may not make it to the public registration. If you want to be notified of upcoming registration for our field trips, you can Become a Member. We also have field trips built into our Educational Tracks (including civics, homesteading, entrepreneurship, etc.).
NOTE: Parent or guardian participation required for all field trips.

Women who are pregnant should not fly.
Participants with a hard cast or hard prosthetic that cannot be removed are not permitted to fly.
People with current or prior head, neck, back or shoulder injury, heart condition, or any other condition that may impede their ability to take part in physical activity or increase the risk of injury, should not fly.

EAA YOUNG EAGLES FLIGHTS WITH TRUE NORTH
Description: We are continuing to build out our Aviation real-life learning experiences! We partner with EAA each year. Get ready to have the experience of a lifetime. We’ll show your student how to become a Young Eagle and taste the freedom of flight that most people only dream about. For ages 8 and 17.
We only have 15 flight spots for each of our current True North group dates (30 spots total).
Exciting News: We are working on getting more flights at various EAA chapter locations across Colorado. Stay tuned.
True North Dates: (students and their parent(s) are required to attend):
June 8, 2024 - only 15 spots
Saturday at 7:30am-2:00pm: Young Eagles Rally Flights at Colorado Air and Space Port (in Watkins)
July 20, 2024 - only 15 spots
Saturday at 7:30am-2:00pm: Young Eagles Rally Flights at Centennial Airport at the Exploration of Flight Building (in Centennial)
Meet your Pilot
The pilots who participate in the Young Eagles program are local members of EAA who are volunteering their time and aircraft to make your flight possible. Each Young Eagles pilot is certificated with the Federal Aviation Administration or Transport Canada. Flights are conducted according to federal regulations and no aerobatic maneuvers will be performed.
What will my pre-flight be like?
First of all, your pilot will explain what you will see and do. This may include explaining how airplanes work, looking at an aeronautical chart (or map), and describing the interior of the airplane, including the instrument panel. Then comes the fun part: you get to go flying!
Safety Reminders
Safety is always top priority when it comes to aviation. Listen and follow instructions given by your pilot, stay away from the propellers, and stay with your pilot or ground crew at all times.
What will my flight be like?
You will spend about 15 to 20 minutes in the air and follow the basic steps in the flight pattern. You will experience the awesome feeling of flight that many people only dream about. Many people remember this experience for the rest of their lives. You will, too!
