Homeschool Educational Track:
Farm Life, Soap Making & Animal Husbandry

ABOUT Farm Life, Soap Making & Animal Husbandry sub-TRACK

You don’t have to live on a farm to use homesteading skills! Modern homesteading, backyard homesteading, and urban farming are all examples of what this can look like.

For the 2024-2025 School Year Program, we are partnering with experienced homesteading instructors and entrepreneurs to bring you this project-based, workshop series called Farm Life, Soap Making & Animal Husbandry covering ages K-12th.

Be sure to check out our other Homesteading & Home Economic Sub-Tracks!

We also have engaging, real-life learning field trips throughout the year (see our Farm Tour Series).

Our learning experiences are ALL non-government funded.

Meet our Instructor & Firehouse Farms

Cynthia Koogle – Owner, Firehouse Farms

Cynthia was raised with goats for the first part of her childhood and has always been an animal lover. She quickly went from 2 to 10+ goats as her passion for raising goats grew. Cynthia is a DIY person and loves natural solutions, so it only made sense to venture into cheese and soap making along with raising a herd of goats.

Firehouse Farms

Firehouse Farms, owned and operated by the Koogle family in Shawnee, Colorado, is a small farm that specializes in goats. Cynthia and Don, along with their son James, manage the farm and ensure that the goats are raised in a happy and healthy environment. The goats produce about two quarts of milk per day, which is sold as raw milk or used to make goat milk soap and other products.

Firehouse Farms takes pride in raising their goats without the use of antibiotics or hormones, except in cases when it is necessary for their health. The farm prioritizes the well-being of the animals and ensures that they are given the best care possible.

Firehouse Farms offers: Raw Goat Milk, Goats Milk Soap, Custom Goat Parties in Denver or Foothills, and Goat-a-Gram.
